Overview
The Intro to Bracker Runner course was created as an entry for the March 2025 iSpring Contest. This project was inspired by a conversation with tournament organizers in the fighting game community who expressed a need for proper staff training during larger tournaments. There isn’t any formal training available. This course has been replicated and updated in Rise 360.
A few challenges that were presented included:
Most staff would be experiencing running brackets for the first time.
Many people lack the soft skills needed to navigate complex situations, such as missed matches or inaccurate reporting.
There is value in having more organized and aware bracket runners in a fast-paced and chaotic environment.
In collaboration with tournament organizers and bracket runners, I developed a scenario-based activity that simulates common situations faced in tournaments.
